Nutcracker

It's that time again.

XiaoXiao was chosen to be an angel this year.  As more than a few people noted, it was, perhaps, a slight bit of miscasting.

 She, herself, had some misgivings.  There were rehearsals that were "not exciting" and dancing that was "not vigorous." Focusing was tough.

She did like that she got to whisper into the Sugar Plum Fairy's ear.

 

With XX, there is never any telling how the learning/rehearsal process will go; while others are working, she is looking for fun. 

But in the end, she always shines.

Fall Fun

After a bountiful Thanksgiving feast at Suzie's house, we headed down to see Brad and Steph.

As always, XX loved spending time with her big brother.

She put her mark on the giant chalkboard at Steph's company offices.

The visit was too short, but perfect.

Then we went down to see Granny and Cousin Jordan.  The two kids had a grand afternoon, riding the carousel around and around and around.  They kept calling out, "Can we go around one more time, Granny?"  And of course, Granny nodded happily. 

There was ice cream.

And best of all, the beach and tidepools.  

It was hard to come back to our cooler weather, but that just means funny hat time.  Though maybe anytime is funny hat time in our house.

On the occasional warmer day, there is always time for a laugh with a soulmate.
